Treatment Descriptions

Ayurvedic consultations

An Ayurvedic consultation includes a detailed analysis of the pulse, doshas, digestion, elimination, chakras, aura, diet, lifestyle, and other indicators of health. Each person is unique according to Ayurveda, and so healing is not a one size fits all process. As practitioners we take the time necessary for each person to see themselves as they really are and work with them to bring their bodies and lives into balance. (1 ½ hours)

Marma

Marma in Sanskrit also means hidden or secret. By definition, a Marma point is a junction where two or more types of tissue meet, such as muscles, veins, ligaments, bones, or joints; they are also pathways for subtle energies to pass. There are 108 Marma points, and through stress, poor diet, injury or trauma, these pathways can become blocked.  A treatment involves the gentle stimulation of these points giving physical and psychological relaxation & promoting their proper function. Marma treatments revitalize the body and mind. (1 ¼ hours)

Chakra Balancing

The word Chakra means “wheel” in Sanskrit. Even though they cannot be seen, Chakras exist at seven points along our body, each one associated with a different set of organs and systems but also our consciousness. When everything is in harmony, the body is in perfect health, but when one or more of these are out of balance, dis-ease occurs. A treatment involves scanning the Chakras, assessing their state and bringing them back into balance via a combination of sound, crystals, light & energy work. (1 ¼ hours)

Aura Cleansing

The Aura is a field of energy that surrounds each living being. Through our interaction with the world around us, we can absorb negative vibrations, we can carry unhealthy thoughts or emotions, eating the wrong food, using drugs, or be suffering from physical or emotional trauma, etc. When our auras harbor unwanted energies, we may feel tired, down, unbalanced, depressed, anxious, "not quite ourselves," or even ill. Aura cleansing can bring us back into balance. (combined with Chakra Balancing treatment)

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese word: Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". It refers to a technique that has been used for millennia of channelling cosmic energy. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of stress reduction & relaxation that everyone can use. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. According to the American Hospital Association, in 2007, 15% or over 800 American hospitals offered Reiki as part of hospital services & that number is growing. (1 hour)

Quantum Healing

Quantum Healing is a method that works with the life force energy of the body to promote optimal wellness. Life Force Energy, also known as ‘Chi’ in Chinese and ‘Prana’ in Sanskrit, and “Ki” in Japanese, is the flow of energy that sustains all living beings. When Quantum Touch is used in conjunction with emotional, nutritional, and spiritual techniques, the body uses its extraordinary intelligence and ability to heal itself, and a person can gain relief from a myriad of symptoms. AyurYoga

AyurYoga is an individually tailored sequence of asanas (postures) aimed specifically at pacifying the doshas which may be out of balance or need to be strengthened. The suggestions form part of every Ayurvedic consultation but a private class can be arranged with one on one instruction of the sequence if required. Dr. Vasant Lad, the renowned Ayurvedic master suggests,“We don’t mold ourselves to fit the yoga practice but rather the yoga practice should be unique to who we are and what we need in order to support health and vitality.”(60-90 minutes)

Essential Oils

Essential Oils are organic compounds extracted from plants with tremendous healing properties. Oils have been used in medicinal and spiritual ways by people the world over for centuries. A 2007 study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine shows women who used aromatherapy during labor reported less pain overall and were able to use fewer pain medications, a number of hospitals are now incorporating essential oils in the treatment of anxiety, depression and infections in patients. In Ayurveda oils are used in massage therapy, meditation, martial arts, saunas, inhalants, facial masks and in ceremonies. (Made according to the treatment plan)

Ayurvedic teas

Ayurvedic teas are specially formulated blends that combine herbs, plants, fruits and spices. Depending on the mix of botanicals, drinking an Ayurvedic blend can help enhance energy, promote emotional well-being, aid digestion, cleanse the body, calm nerves, or provide other types of health benefits. MedicalStudies have found that some teas may help with cancer, heart disease, and diabetes; encourage weight loss; lower cholesterol; and bring about mental alertness.
